If your insurance is paid through escrow, here's what happens:
- Your mortgage company collects a portion of your insurance premium each month as part of your mortgage payment.
- When you switch carriers, we send the new policy details to your lender.
- Your old carrier issues a refund of unearned premium, which goes back into your escrow account.
- Your lender may take 1-2 billing cycles to update — this is completely normal.
You don't need to do anything extra. We coordinate with your lender on your behalf.
